AONL Grants
In 2018 and 2019 the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Foundation for Nursing Leadership Research and Education, awarded the Sustainable Nursing Workforce Development grants to:
- 2019: Joanne T. Clavelle DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE University of Colorado. $9,575 for Further Testing and Refinement of the Professional Governance Scale
- 2019: Yolanda Keys DHA, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, EDAC Texas A&M University. $7,310 for her work with Mitigating the Adverse Effects of 12-hour shifts: Nursing Leaders’ Perspectives
- 2019: John Whitcomb PhD, RN, CCRN, FCCM Clemson School of Nursing & Lori Stanley DNP,RN,NEA-BC,CENP Prisma Health. $6,508 for their work with Innovative Teaching and Learning: Key Metrics of an Undergraduate Nursing Academic and Clinical Learning Environment
- 2018: Diana Meyer, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAEN. Center for Nursing Excellence at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho has been awarded a $50,000 grant for work on cultivating joy and resilience in nursing through a practice playbook. Susan Cline, DNP, RN, NEA-BC was a grant awardee and had begun working on this project but died May, 2019 from recurring breast cancer. Dr. Meyer is continuing her work.
- 2018: Nancy Hoffart, PhD, RN, Forsyth Medical Center and distinguished professor, University of North Carolina at Greensboro has been awarded a $7,550 for work on developing a measure of implementation fidelity for a nurse residency program.
ALSN Grants
In 2019 the Association for Leadership Science in Nursing (ALSN) received a $10,000 2-year grant from Vcan to be awarded to a researcher looking to guide nurse leaders in addressing critical health care delivery issues in a manner that promotes safe, high quality and optimal well-being for patients, families, and health professionals. Two $12,500 grants were awarded to:
- 2020: Esther Chipps, PhD, RN, NEA-BC The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center: An Exploration of Frontline Nurses Managers’ Experience during the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic.
- 2020: Aoyjai Prapanjaroensin Montgomery, PhD, BSN, Postdoctoral Fellow School of Nursing, University of Alabama at Birmingham: COVID-related Stressors, Burnout, Turnover Intention, and Resilience During the Pandemic among Nurse Leaders.
The grants are made possible by the Versant Center for the Advancement of Nursing.
